Jesus is condemned to death

Jesus is condemned to death

We adore you O Christ and praise you
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Pilate went out and said to them, 'Look, I am bringing Him out to let you know I find no case against him'. But the people shouted, 'Crucify him! Crucify him!'
Pilate said, 'Should I crucify your king?' They answered, 'We have no king but Caesar'.
Then he handed him over to them to be crucified.

How often are we like the crowd shouting 'Crucify him'? Condemning those we praised just a week ago. Failing to see the humanity in them. Failing to see the image of God in them. Or are we like Pilate, who we see in the background washing his hands.
When confronted by the living Christ what are we to do? Do we recognize him or just see him as a nuisance to be put out of our lives as soon as decently possible?

O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us(x3)

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est
(Where charity and love are, God is there)
