The women of Jerusalem weep for our Lord

The women of Jerusalem weep for our Lord

We adore you O Christ and praise you
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Lament like a virgin dressed in sackcloth for the husband of her youth. The drink offering and the frain offering are cut off from the house of the Lord.

In spite of the pain and suffering Our Lord is able to bless the women. This time nobody tries to stop him. Do we all have something of God in us? Do those taking Christ to the Cross show this even for one small moment?

Jesus seems to have regained some strength here. Is this because of the giving of a blessing? From giving we receive.

As we start on the second half of the stations it is worthwhile to reflect for a moment on the pivotal role women played in the life, death and ressurection of Jesus. It only makes sense that they should play a pivotal role in the life of his church today.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now at at the hour of our death.

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est
(Where charity and love are, God is there)
