Jesus is stripped of his clothes

Jesus is stripped of his clothes

We adore you O Christ and praise you
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

They divide my clothes among themsleves and for my clothing they cast lots.

Two soldiers look over Jesus' robe. Another two men struggle to remove the rest of his clothes. Material things are more important then the presence of their God and their King. We must also beware that the things of the world do not blind us to the presence of God. At least the man on the right is mixing wine and myrrh to offer to Jesus. This is a mild painkiller.

O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us(x3)

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est
(Where charity and love are, God is there)
