Jesus is taken down from the cross

Jesus is taken down from the cross

We adore you, O Christ, and praise you
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Then he took it down and had it wrapped in a cloth.

See the love on the faces of those surrounding Jesus. We can see here real human feeling. The Passion Story is not a piece of theoretical theology. It is about real people, real feelings and real love - the love of these people for their Lord, who to them is a real person. And it is also abut the overwhelming love of our God who does this for us.

O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us(x3)

Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est
(Where charity and love are, God is there)
